In the shadow of Mullaghanattin
Short Summary created by Colin Murphy  27 May 2015
Usually completed as part of the Mullaghanattin Horseshoe, there is a steepish approach of about 100m ascent from the col between this and its more famous neighbour. The terrain is grass and rock and generally firm underfoot. The summit has two distinct points, the one to the east being the higher. The highpoint is marked by a solitary upright stone. Just at bit over 100m East of the summit at around V 731 770 starA is this sad monument, which needs no further explanation. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/119/comment/2501/

This summit qualifies as a member of MV's list which can be bagged, however it is unlikely to attract song and poetry since it is overshadowed by higher and more elegant summits such as Mullaghanattin and even Beann to its SW.

Our photo shows that Beann NE Top has fine views of the Reeks to the NE. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/119/comment/2500/
