[RWD version 1 ] Out and back route taking in Nowen Hill and its SW Top from a forest entrance at W137 544.

A forest road leads all the way to the main summit; however there the fun begins ... the SW Top is visible only 1.5k away, but those 1.5k will take you close on 45 minutes. The first thing you will see is a forest right in your path ... thin enough, you might expect to push through easily enough, but that only raises the midges, so you detour south. Then the nature of the terrain bites you; tussocks of elephant grass, bog and waist high grass layered on bog, meaning you arrive on th SW Top, hot, sweaty & itchy. And you still have to get back...
