[RWD version 1 ] I passed the main entrance to the CRH quarry at killough at it was closed, but it was 6.30 on a Saturday evening so that was unsurprising and in some ways welcome as they probably were unlikely to grant me access. I elected to park at the non residential farmyard as shown on the map up the cul de sac and crossed the fields avoiding livestock to the quarry fence. I was prevented by the overgrowth on three or four occasions and elected to move to the next field which looked more promising on the aerial photography. And it was. I was able to crawl easily under the fence and onto the track encircling the top of the quarry face. I reached the high point easily which at the moment is a huge pile of rocks on top of an active quarry face. Of my gps the height was 244 meters. This is a working quarry and there are numerous hazards. Not least the open active faces/cliffs and I presume the threat of regular blasting! 💥
