Windy Walk
by Onzy 16 Dec 2013
A long planned trip to the SW this Friday and Saturday for johnstna and I saw us change plans a number of times. Plan A for Saturday was the southern half of the Glenbeigh Horseshoe. Looking at windguru a week out, it was clear that this was going to be a big ask - 59 knots forecast - that's 110 km/hr!!

So plan B was hatched, a route over Eagle Hill and Mullaghbeg.

Having just been almost blown off Cnoc an Bhraca, we mulled over this on Friday night in Cahirciveen and decided on a Plan C. Basically this involved identifying a hill, any hill, in the area, we could get up and down safely - in fact we got three low ones in the end, Bentee was the first.

Up and down by the Bentee Loop, well signposted from A (V465 783). About an hour and a quarter and a climb of around 350m. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/871/comment/15282/

Way Marked Way to the top
by three5four0 1 Oct 2011
Park in a lay-by at roughly A (V465 783), crossed the road and followed the way marked way up an old lane, then across a field to gain the North spur of Bentee, gaining the summit shortly after. Like all hills in this group the views are good. The way marked way provides a loop walk right round Bentee, should you wish to stretch your legs further. A Lovely Ridge Walk
by Cobhclimber 1 Jun 2015
Climbed as part of a circuit from Mountain Stage to Cahersiveen, about 30km, over 11 hrs. Crossed over from Caunoge and joined the Kerry Way and then did the ridge including Beenduff, Foilclogh, Bentee this section about 15km. A full circuit could include the Kerry Way from Cahersiveen and back this ridge walk. Great views in all directions from the ridge, a lovely walk. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/871/comment/17992/
