Track Rating ..
[RWD version 1 ] If you study the route through Knocksink such as track/4029, you will see that in the western, upper reaches of the valley that the track shows a route relatively near to the Glencullen River.
As of late March 2025 when we visited this is impassable in several places as a result of hundreds of trees that have blown down. Whether this was during storm Éowyn or the earlier Darragh we don't know.
Anyway there is an excellent alternative shown in this track which starts from a slightly different place on the public road from Glencullen to Enniskerry, as shown on the map of the track.
In places there are signs that this track was actively maintained with stone sides in places.
It is likely that the other, previously highlighted route will be impassable for probably years, so I recommend the route shown in the above track.
