wicklore: Track 2298 in area near Dublin/Wicklow (Ireland)
A Lug circuit from the west
Length: 15.8km, Creator time taken: 6h15m, Ascent: 827m,
Descent: 855m

Places: Start at S97284 93474, Lugnaquilla, Slievemaan, Ballineddan Mountain, end at Start

Another popular route up Lugnaquillia is the western route from the Glen of Imaal. This is the most tame route involving a long bog trot in almost a straight line. My route follows this straightforward route up, and then branches off to visit Slievemaan and Ballineddin on the return. Great views and you will almost certainly be alone as you sit on Slievemaan and watch the hordes across the valley like ants ascending and descending Lug. This route makes use of small roads to return to the start after descending Ballineddin

Note: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 4h 32m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
