This is an excellent winter walk, which follows a track for the entire route until it meets the Enniskerry Road. Starting at Cruagh Wood car park, follow the track parallel to, and nearest, Cruagh Road. Cross Pine Forest Road into Pine Forest/Tibradden and join the Dublin Mountain Way. Bear East/North-East to Fairy Castle, and then North-East to Three Rock. Descend to Barnacullia, emerging beside The Blue Light Pub (instead of descending by the side of the forest and through the ferns, we took the more circuitous road and track to Barnacullia). Cross the road, and descend again through Fernhill to emerge onto the Enniskerry Road at the junction with Burrow Road. We proceeded to Belarmine from there, but could equally have crossed the road to Kilgobbin Church and Graveyard. Tip: Before the hike, we left one car at the car park opposite The Blue Light Pub. When we reached this point during the hike, our drivers left us and used this car to return to Cruagh Wood to retrieve the other cars whilst the main group of hikers proceeded to Belarmine where we then regrouped in a cafe/restaurant (Fire & Stone).
