There have been major access issues with this hill in the past, although some contributors have suggested that they have been resolved. How exactly they’ve been resolved has not been explained however, and there are still plentiful warning sighns such as 'private property, no entry,' 'trespassers will be prosecuted,' 'you are under video surveillance' etc., which doesn’t suggest any resolution has been reached. That said, if a fictional hillwalker (let’s call him Indiana) wanted to take his chances that he won’t be hauled off to prison by the Gardai, Indiana might consider taking this approach.
The finctional grassy trail at the start
Theoretically, one quiet Sunday, Indiana would head up a grassy lane behind a house, climb over a gate, and then come to two more gates, one in front and one on the right. Being an adventurous sort, Indiana would ignore the gate in front of him and might then clamber over the gate on the right, or rather over the barbed wire fence attached to it, as the gate might be unclimbable.
The fictional forest track.
This would leave Indiana in a small area facing a wall of gorse. But the ever-daring Indiana would discover that there is a narrow opening through the gorse, through which he could squeeze without too much trouble.
The fictional trig pillar at the fictional highpoint
This would leave our hero on a substantial forest track, after which it would be a relatively straightforward ascent up forest tracks, which pass about 20m from the summit trig pillar, at which point Indiana would seize his treasure – a fantastic view of the Wicklow coastline.
The unusual fictional view of the Sugarloaf that Indiana might see.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 1h 0m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
