Often done in conjunction with Douce, Doughill may also be done in isolation.
This route from the west starts at the memorial commemoration the Battle of Keimaneigh in 1822, where there is parking for several cars. Walk south along the road for about 200m to a gate on left, cross this and proceed up the farm track for about 400m.
When this ends, it is possible to link up with a much better track about 100m away – unfortunately this is the only unpleasant part of the route, as you have to wade through long grass and some low gorse for about 5 minutes to reach the track (which, incidentally, leads down into open farmland about 200m from road.)
There are fine views into the valley to the south. Follow this more substantive track to within about 250m of the summit, which is on quite a prominent area of grass and rock and is marked by a small cairn of sorts.
Good views also here of the neighbouring Douce Mt. to the SW. It took me 105 minutes up and down, but you could probably do it in 90 minutes as I was taking it very easy.
