We managed to miss out on bagging Benfree on previous hikes in this area so that was today's goal. We also decided to try a route up over Knockpasheemore so we parked carefully on the R344 - only space for 2 cars. A lovely day and many people met on the hike - so you could do this in 1 hour less . . lots of chat! Our original concept was "out & back" and get the bagging done. While eating lunch in the sun on Benfree we decided to descend from the Benfree/Benbaun col and aim for the commonly used route up/down Benbaun. This also avoided descending steeply from Knockpasheemore. Good decision despite needing ca. 2km on track/road at end. Future recommendation is to start and finish at L79595 57326, ascend to Benbaun, then Benfree before descending as per this track
