A south Wicklow circuit mostly in or near forestry that rises first to Croaghanmoira, skirts the forest and uses the Ballyteige suspension bridge to return. On the day that I did this it was misty all the time with intermittent showers, so not too many photos on higher ground. There are one or two rough patches on the route.
The route goes through the Ballyteige grounds, now a guesthouse.
To cross the Ow river there is a suspension bridge in the Ballyteige grounds. You should ring in advance to make sure that the gate to this is open. Should it not be open, then I understand it is possible to turn left, go a couple of hundred metres, reach the public road and use its bridge.
This route avoids immediately using public road, to delay road walking as long as possible.
An interesting circuit which is mostly somewhat protected from wind and rain by forestry.
