Colin Murphy: Track 5046 in area near Cruach Mhárthain, Dingle West (Ireland)
Simple ascent, huge reward.
Length: 2.0km, Creator time taken: 1h 2m, Ascent: 241m,
Descent: 242m

Places: Start at Q3399701613, Cruach Mhárthain, end at Start
Logged as completed by 1

A simple, straightforward ascent up a track, gaining about 210m, steepish in parts, especially near the top. There is parking for a few cars at the transmitter 1km SE of hill.
Looking south from slopes, transmitter visible in bottom right.
A track skirts this and ascends alongside a fence. On the ascent two gates/stiles allow you to cross the fence when necessary.
The views to the NE.
The steeper upper part of the trail can be slippery in poor conditions.
It shouldn’t take any longer than 25 minutes to reach the top.
Tearaght Island.
The summit is well defined and marked by a small pile of rocks. The panoramic views of the western peninsula, Great Blasket and the rugged Tearaght Island (254m), are spectacular.
Great Blasket from the summit.
Tearaght is the most westerly island in Ireland. A big reward for little effort.

COMMENTS
No comments uploaded yet.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 0h 49m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
