[RWD version 1 ] One of the few Sperrin Carns that won’t involve you having to tramp through muddy, swampy ground, thanks to most of the route being up good forest tracks. It’s a fairly straightforward affair, with parking for multiple cars available at the forest entrance.

Forest roads lead the way.
Not wanting to simply retrace my steps on the return journey, I ignored the initial main turns on the left and continued up the main track to the NE, until I reached a lesser, grassy trail on the left. Followed this NW for about 500m where it rejoined the main forest track that too me directly up to the highpoint.

The highpoint marked by a couple of sticks in the foreground.
There is a building with a transmitter at the top surrounded by a fence, and the highpoint is a rough mound just behind this, marked by a small post and a flat stone. The trees near the summit all seemed devoid of branches and foliage, as though victims of a fire or blight.

The strangley blighted treescape.
Returned a slightly different route. Easy enough with the help of the trails.
