Track Rating ..
[RWD version 1 ] With the prospect of some good weather in Scotland headed up to Glen Etive, having previously climbed Ben Starav a few yrs ago decided to do a round of the other Munros hereabouts. Started from Coiletir Farm and made our way to the Col between Ben Starav and Glas Bheinn Mhor and out to Ben Nan Aighenan 957m, this Munro shies away from the others in the group and requires a descent of about 150m , followed by a similar climb to reach the top. We then reversed the climb and headed for Meall nan Tri Tighearnan 892m and onto a nice ridge heading to Glas Bheinn Mhor 997m, from here the other 2 Munros were clearly visible as was the huge drop to the col between Glas Bheinn Mhor and Stob Coire Albhannaich undaunted we descended to the col at 738m, escape route to Glen Etive from here if required. From the col headed steeply uphill to Stob Coir an Albannaich 1044m another fine hill giving great views in all directions, another steep drop to 754m was followed by you guessed it! , again another steep climb up to Meall Tarsuinn 877m and onto more gentle slopse to the rounded top of Meall Nan Eun, for here it is an 8km walk out the lovely Glen Ceitlein back to the start point. We were really lucky with the weather sunshine all day and clear views, this walk is a serious undertaking with just about 3000m of ascent and one of the hardest one day outings I have undertaken.
