This is a linear walk that started from the Deserted Village, which is south of Carlingford and east of Barnavave. picture 1 for track/4864 : Barnavave, Slieve Foye and the Long Woman's Grave, from Lumpers

Approaching the Deserted Village.

We puzzled over this feature in a wall in the village. picture 2 for track/4864 : Barnavave, Slieve Foye and the Long Woman's Grave, from Lumpers

Is it a larder or for an animal to be kept in.

Beyond there was the ascent to Barnavave or at least one part of that summit.
The weather on Slieve Foye had pretty extreme wind from the east, mist but no actual rain. picture 3 for track/4864 : Barnavave, Slieve Foye and the Long Woman's Grave, from Lumpers

Conditions at one of the cols.

We measured the height of the "key col" of Slieve Foye NW top. It turned out to be at 531.16m, and subtracting that from the height of Slieve Foye NW at 548.06 gave the latter a prominence of 16.9, confirming this bump as an Arderin Beg.
On then Eagles Rock (prominence established at 32.39, confirming it as an Arderin) and on to the interesting oasis of the White Bog with its three lakes. picture 4 for track/4864 : Barnavave, Slieve Foye and the Long Woman's Grave, from Lumpers

Some welcome pastel shades of blue and green in a landscape made harsh by the overcast.

We then went on to the Long Woman's Grave and then to Lumpers.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 5h 9m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
