From the parking spot at Q809107 (just after the equestrian centre, room for 3-4 cars), join the 'Kerry Camino' waymarked path. Follow this path westwards for just under 3km, until you reach the metal cross at the Curraheen river. Cross the river using the bridge provided. From here, head SSE, handrailing the river on your left. Pick up various sheep tracks and gradually gain height as you make your way through the valley. After about 4.5km you will reach the lake, providing the source of the river. This is a tranquil spot to take a few minutes and gaze up at the rocky cliffs that drop down from Baurtregaum and Glanbrack surrounding you.
