Visited these hills on a breezy, cold May day in 2017 after parking at Barnesmore Gap.
Visibility wasn't perfect but quite good all the same -
Errigal, Muckish etc. and even Lough Erne & Cuilcagh on show.
There were several streams / rivers crossed but water levels were very low as the previous 6 weeks had been quite dry. They might be troublesome after a wet spell.
Some steep ground had to be negotiated, especially between Croaghnageer (SH 571) & Croaghanirwore, so a clear day with good visibility advised to help choose good lines of ascent and descent.
The ascent of the final hill, Croaghconnellagh, was tough, but the descent felt even tougher as patches of long, white grass impeded progress and concealed many deep holes.
