Track Rating ..
[RWD version 1 ] We took inspiration from Track 2207 and parked at the Ballaghbeama Gap but about 1.5km on the SW side where there is a lay-by (at the end of the GPS track) where you could fit 2 cars comfortably. We cycled to the N end of Cloon Lough and locked the bikes to a telephone pole. We followed David Hernan's Hill Walker's Kerry route to Coomalougha Lake (in his book he describes going back down the gully we climbed, something I would not like to do) from there we picked our way between pinacles to cross the inlet stream by one of the larger pater-noster lakes before ascending to the ridge W of An Corrán. from here navigation was simple along the ridge. It was beautiful weather and the scenery is breathtaking. One of the most beautiful walks I've ever undertaken.
The photo below is the rightmost gulley as described by David Hernan leading to Coomalougha
