I largely followed this route with six friends on 8/04/2023 having parked at Point A (V82168 81292) immediately after the bridge where there is room for about four cars. At the start point shown, there is a farm building and yard with a new sign stating "Private Road - Vehicle Access for residents & guests only". Shortly after passing behind a group of holiday cottages, the track veers right off the Kerry Way up to Curraghmore Lake and there was no problem crossing the Abhainn Dhú at the lake. The ascent up the valley to the ridge between Curraghmore and Caher is obvious enough although we tried a ramp to the left but had to rejoin the main route as shown. Once on the ridge a clear path leads to Caher and onwards to Carrauntoohil where the summit cross was once again shrouded in mist.
After lunch and photos we descended into clearer but windy conditions past the tops of the Devil's Ladder and Zig Zags before a final ascent of Cnoc an Chuillin. A second snack stop was very welcome on a sheltered ledge on the way down with super views of the valley below and mountains beyond. Following the route alongside the stream brought us back down to the farm building before a pleasant stroll to the cars past the picturesque Slate Cottage.
At a leisurely enough pace and the two breaks, we completed the circuit in just over 7 hours and recorded a distance of 14.8km and 1,586m of climbing.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 4h 11m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
