Djouce: Track 4373 in area near Monabrack, Galty Mountains (Ireland)
Length: 14.7km, Creator time taken: 6h56m, Ascent: 791m,
Descent: 738m

Places: Start at R86895 19652, Monabrack, Slievecushnabinnia, Carrignabinnia, Lyracappul, Knockaterriff Beg, Knockaterriff, end at R85374 20580 1.8km NW from Start
Logged as completed by 2

Limited parking at start point. Buts lots of new forest tracks since earlier MV contributions so may be a better start point or easier start as some pushing through vegetation at end of first track. Steep climb up edge of forestry and onto open mountain to summit of Monabrack (aka Cruckrin on EW Maps). Dip before joining Lyrcacappul summit ridge. We turned right towards Slievecushnabinnia (to bag ridge high points and worth it for the views before turning back and folllowed the wall up to the top of Lyracappul. We were told by a local farmer that this wall separates private land on NE slopes from commonage on the SW slopes. We were using East West Mapping which uses different names for several peaks from OSI & MV (while appreciating their local research and desire for accuracy this can be confusing. Lyracappul becomes Cornabinnia). We dropped down to Little Bull and Bull Hill where we descended very steeply over rough ground to a bridge and followed tracks by river (nice for a dip on a hot day) through trees to start

Super extra info, thank you.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 4h 16m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
