[RWD version 1 ] In those fairytale days before we weren't allowed to go anywhere that we couldn't walk to from our front doors, MV's alleged waterfalls expert (and his slightly confused terrier) took the chance to have a quick shlep around the renowned Glenariff Forest Park Waterfalls Walk in Antrim for the first time.

Hey Dad, what's the main focus of this walk?

There is extensive parking (£5 for a car) if using the upper car park, but on the day the beginnings of Coronavirus restrictions meant that the ticket machine was out of use. A signposted path leads from said car park, switchbacking down into a verdant gorge. The most challenging bits are covered on well-constructed wooden walkways, and the whole walk is fine for children (says a man with no children).

Ess-na-Larach

The bottom of the gorge contains two waterfalls, the first of which (the Ess-na-Larach) is a pearler of a double-cascase...probably the finest cataract in Northern Ireland. As the route turns for home (a longer, gentle climb) a very brief and obvious detour leads to a much-photographed viewpoint for the splendid watery curtain of Ess-na-Crub.

It's a bit touristy, but still an excellent little family outing.
