Peter Walker: Track 4292 in area near Brown's Hill, Bluestack Mountains (Ireland)
Brown's Hill
Length: 7.5km, Creator time taken: 1h49m, Ascent: 397m,
Descent: 402m

Places: Start at H0421887349, Brown\'s Hill, end at Start
Logged as completed by 1

A fairly unfashionable summit even in the context of a generally unfrequented range climbed in high winds and heavy rain...yet I still saw one other person up there and interacted with another person online who'd also done it that day. Maybe Ireland's mountains do have a problem with erosion after all.
The view to the north-east. That'll be rain then.

I followed esteemed author Colin Murphy's directions along the track leaving the N15 almost opposite the Barnesmore Gap car park, and once on the hillside took a slightly more easterly line than he apparently did for the summit, following a minor stream for a fair distance before the steeper section to the top...mostly sloppy going (especially lower down) but not that bad.
The approach to the top

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 2h 9m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
