As noted by previous visitors, Scraigs is a cracking mini-mountain, all rough and irascible as it rears precipitously over Lough Finn. But fortunately an ascent is considerably shorter and less complex than that last sentence. A minor road winds around the mountain's north and west side, and I parked next to a stone pillar with an unusual emblem on it roughly WSW of the top...there are several possible starting/parking spots hereabouts, but I picked this one because it was almost opposite a track that looked to be heading in the right direction. The reality was that it soon petered out next to some cuttings, so Indy and I just headed on up the ridge. There's a fine backward view over Lough Muck to Aghla, and a couple of fences to cross; the lower one is best tackled a bit right (south) of the ridgeline as it's not barbed there. The top is an area of rocky knolls, fun to explore, and the summit is marked with a conspicuous cairn. We returned the same way.
