Tara Hill - Forest Trails & Pleasant Views

The Coillte trail head at T21313 62432 allows for parking for around 4 cars and is an ideal place to start this little walk. Sadly, and as with so many Coilltle forests, there has been clear felling done here in the past. Having said that the views as you ascend the forest track are quite pleasant.
Views from the forest track.

There are a network of trails which are not marked on any map that I have but are easy and fun to explore. This was our first time here and a loop walk was easy enough to make up as we went. The summit itself has a Trig Pillar and a geocache. The views from the rocky summit are slowly being hid as the trees slowly take over. Eucalyptus trees and Bilberry can been seen through out the hike, a very pleasant outing.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 1h 22m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
