markwallace: Track 3877 in area near Knockakishaun, Croagh Patrick (Ireland)
Quick up and down Knockakishaun
Length: 4.4km, Creator time taken: 52m08s, Ascent: 308m,
Descent: 246m

Places: Start at L84932 75497, Knockakishaun, end at L85758 75588 831m E from Start

Starts from layby opposite a house in the secluded Bunowen valley near Louisburgh. This layby is about 1km before the road crosses the bridge over the Bunowen River, so avoids the potentially tricky river crossing, as well as any fence crossing.

Short traverse of bog followed by moderately steep ascent on mostly trackless ground.

Stats say 52 minutes but the walk took exactly one hour.

Note: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 1h 23m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
