Starts from layby opposite a house in the secluded Bunowen valley near Louisburgh. This layby is about 1km before the road crosses the bridge over the Bunowen River, so avoids the potentially tricky river crossing, as well as any fence crossing.
Short traverse of bog followed by moderately steep ascent on mostly trackless ground.
Stats say 52 minutes but the walk took exactly one hour.
