Different finish on this year's challenge, adding some 3km over good forest tracks and tarmac. Best weather conditions we could have dreamt of. Brilliant organisation from the Wayfarers Hill-walking Club as usual.
Passing by Mount Leinster East Top, with Mount Leinster in view...
The long descent from Mount Leinster to Scullogue Gap by-passes Knockroe (centre), and then begins the long haul up Blackstairs Mountain (centre-left in the background)...
Looking back over Knockroe as we start ascending Blackstairs Mountain...
Once on top of Blackstairs Mountain, most of the ascent is done, but only about half of the distance has been covered...
The long descent down Blackstairs Mountain begins. Next checkpoint: Carrigalachan Gap, where hot drinks and cake await...
