Up the Pic de Crabère (2630m) from the Etang d'Araing and back to our starting point at the hamlet of Eylie. We woke up to a very clear day. The employees at the CAF Refuge allowed us to leave most of our stuff there while we would ascend the peak. The second half of the 700m ascent is pretty steep but otherwise requires nothing more but some care on the descent. Breathtaking 360° vista from the top, where we chilled out for about an hour, and some brilliant views on the way up and down as well. Back to the refuge for a beer before we made our way back to our starting point via a different route, that happened to be quite long but rather varied and therefore enjoyable in terms of landscapes and terrain.

Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 5h 14m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
