As you may see from my track, I omitted the 2 central tops from the usual route on these mountains. This was simply because I was tired! It's quite a stiff climb up Knocklomena and then to turn around and descend most of it again...well, I decided no. There is a track of sorts on the northern slopes of Bascadh that is visible as you ascend Knocklomena which helps with getting around to the saddle at Cnoc na gCapall. As I am bagging 600m peaks only, I let myself off the hook and I'm glad I did. I found this a tough enough walk as it is.
As for the re:cycling? Yes, I left my bike in a ditch on the minor road that runs into the Black Valley and cycled back to the car. Incidentally, the cycle took around 35 minutes for the approx. 5km journey. Much better than walking back the road!
