A worthwhile approach to the Ox Mountains highest point. Started at a junction of tracks on the Sligo Way near the Kingsmountain Windfarm where there is plenty of parking. Followed track south to Owenduff River which was crossed into the Owenduff Nature Reserve. Followed the ridge south past the higher of the Belcloghy Loughs and on up to Spot Height 490m (Eamonns Top?). Dropped to the saddle at the head of the valley (where there are signs warning of underground electric cables) and then climbed Knockalongy SW Top (Knockacappul?) (521m). Continued to Knockalongy trig (544m). From here the spur of Grangebeg Barr / Ballygreighan Barr was followed above the windfarm before crossing some fences to drop down to the Sligo Way north of the windfarm. Returned to start via the Sligo Way trail.

Note: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 2h 52m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
