mountainmike: Track 3165 in area near Nephin Beg S Top, North Mayo (Ireland)
Nephin Beg From Brogan Carroll Bothy
Length: 16.5km, Creator time taken: 2h53m, Ascent: 13m,
Descent: 18m

Places: Start at F9691005583, Nephin Beg South Top, Nephin Beg, end at Start
Logged as completed by 1

From Brogan Carroll Bothy (renamed Robert Lloyd Praeger Centre as part of Wild Nephin Project) headed out Western Way. Followed Letterkeen Loop over Correen Beg (311m). Left trail to head up Nephin Beg South Top (Knockgorragh?), then on to Nephin Beg top. Down SW ridge to Bangor Trail, which was followed past the Lough Avoher hut, all the way back to the carpark.
***NB*** GPS error means the ascent/descent was not recorded correctly for this route - the height gain is approximately 770m for this route. Also the route was completed in hillrunning shoes and the trail sections on the way in and out were run to save time given the late start. Probably a 4-5 hour walk.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 3h 19m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
