Track Rating ..
[RWD version 1 ] An ascent of Feede Mountain will almost certainly be accomplished (if that's the word) by this route. Mr Goodman's notes are still accurate, with the fallen tree still standing athwart the forest track just after the point where one launches into the trees. (Said fallen tree would probably stop any vehicles, but it won't prevent the passage of any pedestrians, save those over 6'7" tall and suffering from bad backs). Once under the canopy one does indeed head due west, but be aware that that's diagonally rather than directly up the slope; be sure to get your direction right at this stage because if you arrive on the skyline in the wrong place conditions underfoot may prevent you getting to the right one.

The top is cleared of trees but prickly underfoot; this doesn't prevent progress but does make it a bit frustrating. It's one of those hills where you get home and discover you're still wearing a decent amount of it.
