Onzy: Track 2834 in area near Eagles Hill, Dunkerron Mountains (Ireland)
South West Iveragh
Length: 12.9km, Creator time taken: 3h28m, Ascent: 575m,
Descent: 578m

Places: Start at V57503 60609, Eagles Hill, Mullaghbeg, end at Start
Logged as completed by 1
Route over Eagles Hill and Mullaghbeg starting from partking at Coad V93526 80439. The route is that outlined by Colin Murphy on the hill pages and uses the Kerry Way north before heading uphill to Eagles Hill. There is a significant detour back south to avoid the low ground around Gortnamackanee before heading north west to Mullaghbeg.

There is a very substantial network of bog roads south of Mullaghbeg which would give useful possibilities, either for a direct approach to Mullaghbeg, or for a return to Caherdaniel, should you have set out from there. This track makes use of an eastwards track in this area (indicated on OS), to head back to the Kerry Way and the car.

To download GPS tracks you must be enrolled and logged in. See "Login or enrol", top right - quick and easy.

Note: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 3h 33m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
