A fantastic walk in one of the most remote places I have visited in Ireland until now (did this walk in March 2014). Start at Tim Healy Pass. Easy ascent up Knockowen, Cushnaficulla and Knockeirky (mind the cliffs to the N !!), followed by a trip in the middle of nowhere to reach Glenkeel Top, a fantastic feeling of remoteness and wilderness, with no trace of any human activity around !! Return via the Canshanavoe ridge to the N, then W up Knockowen again and down to Stoockeenalackareha before getting back up to the car via the R574. Stunning views all along, especially from Knockowen and Cushnaficulla, but also from the southern end of Canshanavoe towards Bantry Bay and the Glenlough cliffs. Unforgettable !!

Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 6h 2m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
