This was my second post work attempt on this hill - I previously tried an approach from the east via the Slieve Felim Way, but because of impending darkness and windblown trees on the firebreak access to the bog I turned back. Reviewing the maps and aerial photos I picked this route. I parked my car to the side of the forest road (space for one car) at the open forest barrier. Indeed if this barrier is open you could drive to within 1.2km of the summit on a decent forest road but i think this is all private forestry so that might not be reasonable. The track is fairly self explanatory - as soon as you emerge from the forest you walk up a short dry bog track and then onto the bog itself. There are very good views of the surrounding Slieve Felims especially the southern Flank of Keeper Hill.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 1h 32m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
