[RWD version 1 ] I attempted this climb at the sign before the quarry as described. I found the path difficult to negotiate due to the foliage and stopped at a fallen tree that had partially knocked down the quarry fence. I reattempted the hill via the fields to the north east which was pretty easy - only one fence to be crossed. Frustrated at not being able to see the monastic ruins i reattempted to find them from the uphill side and still no luck. Keeping in mind the impending darkness, falling rain and proximty to the quarry face I felt safer to abandon my search and descended via the track with some bushwhacking and scratches.
