Peter Walker: Track 2492 in area near Belfast Hills (Ireland)
Divis Ridge Trail
Length: 8.2km, Creator time taken: 1h 1m, Ascent: 86m,
Descent: 87m

Places: Start at J2759274499, end at J2711674386 489m W from Start
Logged as completed by 1

This track shows the National Trust's recently opened Ridge Trail on Divis, which meanders along duckboards, paving and gravel paths (all very easy going) around (but not really along, to be honest) the ridge of Black Hill to the top of Black Mountain; the views over the city are very fine (in so much as Belfast can look aesthetic from any angle...just concentrate on the view down Belfast Lough).

According to the Chief Exec of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Divis is 'one of Belfast's hidden gems'. Erm...you can see it from practically everywhere in the city. 'Coming, ready or not! Oh, you're right there...'

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 1h 47m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
