Onzy: Track 2486 in area near Binn Bhraoin Central Top, Twelve Bens (Ireland)
Three Tops of Benbreen
Length: 12.5km, Creator time taken: 5h23m, Ascent: 760m,
Descent: 784m

Places: Start at L81433 55373, Binn Bhraoin (mullach meánach), Binn Bhraoin, Binn Bhraoin (Mullach Thuaidh), end at Start
Logged as completed by 1

Linear out and back route from Gleninagh taking in the three VLs of Benbreen, inspired by Wicklore's track 1405.

The starting point is at V935 804, which is at the end of a private road off the R344. The private road is marked private and there may be a closed gate - however, as long as you ask for permission at the farm house you should be okay - they are very positive towards hillwalkers. I was very glad that Wicklore had already pointed this out, because I am wary of opening other peoples gates, at least for the car!

The walk itself is on a track of sorts as far as the Maumina col between Benbaun and Bencollaghduff, before contouring over complex ground around Bencollaghduff and onto Benbreen - romping over the three tops before returning the same way.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 3h 46m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
