Onzy: Track 2340 in area near Boughil, Dunkerron Mountains (Ireland)
West of Moll's Gap
Length: 7.5km, Creator time taken: 3h20m, Ascent: 602m,
Descent: 599m

Places: Start at V85115 77057, Boughil, Cnoc na gCapall, Bascadh, end at Start
Logged as completed by 1

Route over Boughil, Cnoc na gCapall and Bascadh, beginning at Barfinny Lough.

The standard route here would probably be to cover these three hills and add Knocklomena before descending to the road and returning to the start point, or, I suppose returning over the hills again.

Faced with some time pressure, and finding the complex terrain, particularly between Cnoc na gCapall and Bascadh very time consuming, I called a halt at Bascadh and contoured under Cnoc na gCapall on the return.

There is a handy fence which can be followed right from Barfinny Lough all the way along the tops.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 2h 30m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
