This is a magnificent part of the coast. The walk first heads down Barton Court and on to Lighthouse Road and on to the iconic Split Point Lighthouse. There are spectacular views from the headland here. We then retraced out steps and headed NE and then N along a fine walking track past the northern end of Sandy Gully Beach. It then climbs the cliff edge and there are wonderful views out east over Eagle Rock. Along the way I was lucky to spot an echidna scuttling into the bushes. There were plenty of yellow crested cockatoos and other beautiful unidentified birds to be seen along the way.

When we got to the next headland we retraced our tracks and walked back and veered right up Eagle Rock Parade. We took the track leading to Albert Avenue and joined The Great Ocean Road. There is a nice Eagle Gallery on the corner here with some lovely paintings (with prices to match). We detoured right and collected groceries at the local store and then headed back down to the Inlet Hotel for refreshments. A very enjoyable walk in a wonderful area.
