Having arrived at the usual 'high' start on the one way drive across Gullion's flanks I discovered no access signs and footpath 'repairers' in situ...an issue to which I will doubtless return later. Anyway, I drove a bit further along and made my own way up pathless slopes of (mainly) bracken to the summit ridge: once aloft a track led to the top, a little swampy after the day before's heavy rain. I returned the same way, of a fashion. On a clear day the crux (and it's a very tame one) of this route is getting over the barbed wire fence just after you leave the road.
