simon3: Track 2219 in area near Silvermine Mountains Far E Top, Shannon (Ireland)
Three Silvermines tops.
Length: 6.7km, Creator time taken: 1h52m, Ascent: 313m, Descent: 376m
Places:Start at R8442969381, Silvermine Mountains Far East Top, Silvermine Mountains East Top, Silvermine Mountains West Top, end at Start Logged as completed by 1
The start is at the car park for the Knockanroe Forest Recreation Area where there is parking for perhaps a dozen cars. The "Far East" top to the east is trivially easy to reach and isn't particularly exciting.
The ridge to the other summits narrows and, while it is hardly a knife edge, is nevertheless a true airy ridge with great and contrasting views on either side. There is a rough boggy track all the way to the west summit which has been somewhat chewed up by scramblers.
For variety this walk returned taking a southern diversion along a local looped walk which we would recommend.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 1h 52m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
