Onzy: Track 2204 in area near Aghla More, Donegal NW (Ireland)
Circuit of the Three Aghlas
Length: 9.1km, Creator time taken: 3h 5m, Ascent: 669m,
Descent: 675m

Places: Start at B9389325180, An Eachla Mhór, An Eachla Bheag (mullach theas), An Eachla Bheag, end at B9357125548 489m NW from Start
Logged as completed by 1

Route takes in Aghla More, Aghla Beg South and Aghla Beg, beginning from the head of Altan Lough.

Time prevented taking in the gloriously named 473m peak, Ardloughnabrackbaddy. In any event, this could feasibly be reached from any of the three sides of the roughly triangular walk - I was most tempted from the col between Aghla More and Aghla Beg South.

A river must be crossed at both the beginning and end of the route; this is best crossed either on the stepping stones (5 inches underwater today) which I used on the outward leg, or at the point where the river emerges from Altan Lough, which I used on the return.

The lower reaches of the walk are very wet but it improves as you gain height - after heavy rain this could be purgatorial.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 2h 56m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.

* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
