thomas_g: Track 2157 in area near Barraboy Mountain, Shehy/Knockboy (Ireland)
2 hours 3 peaks
Length: 7.1km, Creator time taken: 2h18m, Ascent: 475m,
Descent: 482m

Places: Start at V93216 61205, Barraboy Mountain, Barraboy Mountain SE Top, Barraboy Mtn Far E Top, end at Start
Logged as completed by 1
Parked at V93218 61229 (Point A) (barely room for one car) beside Beara Way stile. Over the stile and up the track, I left the track and went straight for Barraboy, but it's probably best to follow the track to the col and walk along the ridge enjoying the views down to the bay.
The return on this route follows the line of a fence along which flows a stream, the gully is deep in places, careful if it's wet.

Alternate: There is a farmyard 200m from the parking place which has plenty of room and a good track to the end of Barraboy ridge, asking permission here would get you a better place to park and a quick route the Barraboy Far E, then a lovely walk back along the ridge.

Note: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 2h 13m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
