Left from Carlingford and took the road East out of main street towards the Barnameve. It's signposted for the Barnameve Walk and the Tain walk. Continued on the road for about 1.5 km. Pass the signs for the blue (Slieve Foye Loop) and Purple Walks. Follow the Red Signs for Bearnameve Walk going South East in the direction of the sea and past Barnaveve. Took a right turn up a track past a deserted village. This was short cut out of the red Barnaveve Loop which we rejoned after we gained about 50 metres. We ascended Baranveve from the south with a forest to our left and following the red signs for the Barnaveve Loop. Once at the top of Barnaveve we did a small spur off to the Barnaveve trig pillar. Then down into the saddle and up Slieve Foye slightly on West Side. Coming down we headed North East for 50 metres and then found a gully which brought us down south east until we met the blue Slieve Foye Loop Paths which we followed to get back to Carlingford.

Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 2h 50m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
