Track Rating ..
[RWD version 1 ] Following the route described by David Herman in "Hill Walkers Donegal" Walk 23.

This track follows the high ground as described by David Herman along the first of the deep gullies. I'd recommend dropping down into the gully as the higher ground is covered with knee-deep heather and with the very rough ground makes difficult and tough going.

Navigation along the route is very easy with good terrain features but care required on the descent from Castle Lough to the head of Lough Finn and the rough track as the terrain here is quite featureless and there are a few steep crags that need to be carefully negotiated.

The mountain is quite extensively grazed so if you intend bringing a dog it will need to be good around sheep or else kept on a lead for much of the walk.
