wicklore: Track 2023 in area near Crohan West, Knockmealdown Mountains (Ireland)
Crohan West - a Knockmealdown best?
Length: 6.8km, Creator time taken: 1h50m, Ascent: 372m, Descent: 373m
Places:Start at S1125408164, Crohan West, end at Start Logged as completed by 1
A medium walk to visit a summit with some great views. The route follows a good track for most of the walk, with some heather-bashing for a while around the summit area. It is a straightforward there-and-back again route, although Knockmeal summit can easily be added on the way. My route meandered to the east of the summit before finally ascending. This is unnecessary and I'd suggest the direct approach I used on my return. Fine views of the Knockmealdowns as well as a remote(ish) feeling.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 1h 59m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
