Garmin: Track 2013 in area near Crockmulroney, Donegal NW (Ireland)
Derryveagh- Figure of 8 Circuit
Length: 9.8km, Creator time taken: 6h30m, Ascent: 550m, Descent: 538m
Places:Start at B97310 16192, Cnoc Uí Mhaolruanaidh, Cró an Locháin, Cruach na Sagart, Mám an Leaca, end at Start Logged as completed by 1
Starting at the back gate of Glenveagh national park this walk provides an ever widening vista of the Derryveagh mountains as the walk progresses. I particularly liked how a triangular profile of Errigal gradually appears on the ascent of Staghall mountain until, when i reached the summit of Maumlack mountain the view had widened out to include the entire seven sisters from Muckish to Errigal. The weather conditions on this autumn day yielded enough clarity of visability to also give a glimpse of Slieve League and what I assume to be Ben Bulbin in the far distance to the South.- A thoroughly enjoyable walk!
NB- The correct total ascent for this walk was 608m

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 2h 53m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
