Length: 16.1km, Creator time taken: 5h24m, Ascent: 743m, Descent: 754m

This starts from the car park at the Glenmalure Lodge and goes via the oddly named Coolalingo Bridge into the trees. It takes in a visit to the Rebel Cave at T07557 93712, a hard to find cleft between various huge boulders.
From there over easy enough grassy slopes to Lugduff and back via Mullacor, a trip through around 140m of moderately walkable maturish Sitka Spruce (as of 2012) to find a bend in a forest track and then back to the start. We misjudged the point to enter the forest to get to this bend because I mainly reckoned the point to enter the forest from the N corner of the trees using the Harvey map. Unfortunately the Harvey map (2002) does not show the current true corner of the trees which is around 200m N of where they show it.
I was suspicious while I was there because we couldn't find the end of the track to the SW of the corner and because the height on the map (around 540m) didn't tally with the height given by the GPS at the corner (590m). So if you are repeating this track, take heed and go further south. From the air photos it looks like there is a small track through the trees at the right place to the bend. This would be around 420m SE from the northern corner of the trees.

NOTE: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, an approximate though often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 4h 28m + time stopped for breaks
NOTE: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
* Note: A GPS Height in the elevation profile is sourced from the device that recorded the track. An "SRTM" height is derived from a model of elevations for parts of the earth. More detail
