wicklore: Track 1404 in area near Slieve Aghkerane, Achill/Corraun (Ireland)
Corraun Loop
Length: 11.4km, Creator time taken: 4h22m, Ascent: 617m,
Descent: 614m

Places: Start at L73757 94372, Slieve Aghkerane, Corraun Hill, end at Start
Logged as completed by 1
This route takes in the two Corraun summits. On a good day it offers amazing views across Clew Bay to Croagh Patrick, Clare Island, The Nephin Begs and the summits of Achill Island. Also on decent from Corraun there are lovely summer views of the inlet below Corraun, with its waters appearing green and blue, with the white sand in swirling curves and patterns under the water. Keep an eye out for the turf-cutting famer in his mini-tractor who might give you a jaunt in the back loader for a few hundred metres! Also, beware of a potential wasp or bee hive in the summit cairn on Corraun Hill East Top

Note: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 3h 19m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
