A compact 3 1/2 hour walk that takes in the highest point of Donegal and its smaller neighbour. The route follows the 'Tourist Trail' to ascend Errigal, and uses both boggy and rocky tracks. Care needed if windy due to steep slopes. The narrow path between the two 'summits' of Errigal is brief and not really that narrow. Again be careful if it's windy. Fine views across the land and to nearby mountains. Good car park at start of route, and great views of Errigals precipitous northern slopes while ascending/descending Mackoght.

Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 2h 35m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
